The Road To Germinating A Practice

Many a time I have posed the question to myself; 'what does it mean to establish a professional practice?' After reading various blogs from my piers, I have discovered that perhaps the best starting place is to turn back to ones roots in the industry in the most simplistic and the rawest form possible. Thus, I decided to begin with words. Although they have not always been my forte, words are the building blocks of communication and I therefore felt it beneficial to channel and strip back my thoughts on the matter by listing words that I associate with my own practice and its long standing history since 1939.  Despite this, I wanted to incorporate a sense of imagery into this list and hence I decided to create my word bank in the form of a tree. Generally,  trees represent a fundamental part of existence, providing air for all life and habitats for others.   My Journey to find out Who am I?    Thank you for such a wide network set up to help me study and not feel alone and be part of a community network.    I was really worried about the course particularly the written work but knowing there are many example blogs and suggested video and library resources, this will be a tremendous support for me.    Also knowing that I can look back on all the Skype meetings to replay any lectures or meetings is reassurance for me that I can make sure I have not missed anything.    The online distance learning BAPPS course is so efficiently set up where I can find all the help I need in just this one section of the Unihub. I am looking forward to furthering my education through studying the BAPPS course, and more specifically I am excited to connect with other course members through skype and the blogs. It will be inspiring to learn with my course leaders and other students who share similar interests and goals as myself. As a child I grew up at my parents' dance school for a large portion of my upbringing, so my whole life has been immersed with dance in a multitude of styles that ranged from Ballroom and Latin, to freestyle, street, and ballet. My passion for these genres of dance was something that manifested from the earliest moments of my toddler-hood and I cannot imagine my life without the opportunities to somewhat encapsulate the essence of dance on a daily basis. I have competed and won many National titles in copious styles over the years, a highlight of which was representing Great Britain in their selected team as a
